You know me.

This past week has been one word: incredible.
The Lord is showing up in grand ways. Some of which I know I haven’t even realized yet.  But I’d like to share a few that I have noticed.

Every Tuesday night we have combined men’s and women’s bible study.  When I first heard we would be doing it this way, I wasn’t especially happy.  I love women’s time and being able to dive into the Word with women, so I was expecting this bible study to just be sort of weird.  But, I was wrong.  We have been studying a book called Learning Evangelism from Jesus, which focuses on certain passages in the Bible where Jesus literally teaches us how to interact with other people.  Then we dissect the scripture, discuss it, ponder it, and talk about what it tells us about God and ourselves, and how we can apply it.  The conversation gets really deep and it’s made me think about things I’ve never stopped to wonder about before.  It’s been really cool to see my idea that we could only have great community among the women on our team be transformed.  I am so appreciative of everyone in Bible study and the conversation we have.  God is definitely revealing the importance of his Word more and more each day.

On Wednesday afternoons, we have “coffee time” which is a time where we gather in a designated place on our campuses and have snacks and – you guessed it – coffee, and invite our friends that we’ve met throughout the week and go through a bit of material or watch a short clip and then have a discussion about it.  This week, my friends Marianna and Gregory came, and Marianna invited her friend, Katherine!  It was really interesting to hear their outlooks and to hear more about what they believe and why.  It helped me understand them better and also allowed a few people in our group to share what we believe.  They want to continue to hang out and are taking a few of us on a picnic on Thursday!

That evening, my roommate, Bri, and I hung out with our friend Anastasia again.  She took us to this rooftop cafe and we could see the whole city.  She is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met and loves being our friend!  She took us shopping and helped me find a super cute dress.  We are hanging out with her and two friends on Friday!  So thankful for friends who want to keep spending time together!

So fun!

Then this weekend, it was our mid-project retreat.  We got to go to the Greek Island, Spetses.  It was beautiful.  I’m not exaggerating.  It was the most gorgeous place I have ever been.

We were able to relax on the beach, have a team dinner on the shore, ATV around the island, cliff jump, explore caves, and rest.  Here are a few pics from the adventure:

  Our little hotel.

  The beach!

  Team dinner with the ladies.

 Our view from dinner.

 The crystal clear turquoise water.

The last view as we were boarding to head back to Athens.

I stood back multiple times this weekend in awe of the beauty.  God is so creative.  He created the clear turquoise waters and the magnificent sunsets and then luscious green trees, and still He knows me.
Wow.  Psalm 139 says “O Lord, you have searched me and known me!  You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.  You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.  Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.” v. 1-4

The Creator and Perfector of all things knows me…. He knows all of me.  Not just the parts that I choose to present, but the messy, broken parts of me, too.  My deepest thoughts, longings, fears, He knows them.

Being on that island made me feel so small – yet it also made me feel so loved.  The Lord has taken the time to craft that beautiful place, but He has taken much more time and interest in delicately weaving together me and you – His children.

Be encouraged by this today.  Live in truth and walk in love.
